11th November 1914   Wednesday

Did not turn out of bed ‘til nearly 10 am., one of my pals brought me some breakfast earlier and I turned over and had another nap. A draft of 6 officers and 100 men joined us today – about noon got sudden orders to reinforce at Zonnebeke with the Ox and Bucks, took up our position there at 3 pm. – Terrible night, raining hard and bitterly cold, lots of wounded Germans coming in. We lost another commanding officer today ( Major Wibler) he only joined us that morning
