3rd November 1914   Tuesday

Usual heavy shelling still going on. About 3 pm. Huns attacked. We lost some more ground but regained it before dark. In the hand to hand fighting got a slight bayonet wound in the right thigh but at the time did not notice it. Accounted for the German with my bayonet, pinning him to the ground – Went to dressing station when all was quiet and had my wound dressed but returned that evening to my duties –
