Third page of Diary

The third page of Leo’s diary contains two brief poems:
How True !

Our God and soldiers we alike adore.
When on the brink of ruin – Not before
After deliverance, both alike requited
Our God forgotten and our soldiers slighted

We don’t wear iron crosses
For looting ruined homes
Ill treating helpless women
And laughing at the moans.
